November 30, 2018: Finishing My Draft

Last night I completed NaNoWriMo! I can’t believe I finished writing 50,000 words. In the beginning of the month, I started the project just to see how far I could go. Writing a book was always the farthest from my mind. I never saw myself as an ‘author’. And while I’m still not at that stage, it’s certainly a big step toward something toward being an author. I was able to write the minimun (1,600 words) every night. Yesterday I wrote the final word count: 3,377 words. It involved writing during my break at work, and getting to the project as soon as I got home. I needed to validate the count after everything was done.

This month showed that I can truly write an extensive amount every day. Now during December and January, I can edit my project. I’ll probably start that in the middle of December. For now, I can resume my reading schedule. There’s so many exciting books to read.
