Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag

Halfway through 2020??? I never thought we would never get to June!

I’m sure that many of us want 2020 behind us! I just want the threat of coronavirus to be gone so we can resume social gatherings (safely) once more. Until then, I spend many days in my yard reading. Contacting my friends too…messaging/texting is such a lifesaver!

I’ve read several books thus far in 2020, and I will share my most loved (and disappointing) reads. My Book Freak Out Tag for 2019 will also be available to view here!

I came across the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag through Kristen Kraves Book‘s page.

Best book you’ve read so far in 2020:

Lobizona by Romina Garber

This was a tough one, but I absolutely enjoyed Manu’s story! This takes place within the Miami area, and it the confronts the issues of family separation and the immigration crisis head on. A magical school with witches and werewolves also exists! Lobizona comes out in August!

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2020:

Silent Shadows (Harbored Secrets #3) by Natalie Walters

I’m surprised that I’ve only read one sequel this year! Silent Shadows was a tale filled with action and romance. It was pretty enjoyeable!

New release that you haven’t read yet but want to:

A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow

A Song Below Water features strong women entwined in silence, until an unspeakable event shakes up their Oregon community. I can’t wait to read this story!

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year:

The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi

I absolutely cannot wait for The SIlvered Serpents! I read this book through NetGalley, and I already pre-ordered my copy. I love Serefin and his crew! The Silvered Serpents come out in September!

Biggest disappointment:

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

I really wanted to love this book soooo much! Sadly, it wasn’t for me!

Biggest Surprise:

Things in Jars by Jess Kidd

I didn’t know what to expect from this story, but I’m so glad that I took a chance on this one! This had a blend of supernatural, mystery and thriller wrapped up in a beautiful gift!

Favorite new author:

Talia Hibbert

I absolutely enjoyed Get a Life, Chloe Brown, and I’m excitedly awaiting Take a Hint, Dani Brown, which comes out on June 23!

Newest fictional crush:

I always have a rough time answering this one!

Newest favorite character:

Izzy Richardson (Little Fires Everywhere)

Book that made you cry:

So far I’ve yet to read any!
