One thing that I’m relieved about with my NaNoWriMo progress is that I’m more relaxed about writing ‘a draft’ as oppised to a finished product. I usually get so consumed with everything looking perfect, but working on draft only requires that you put the thread of your ideas down on paper. Granted, you do need to have to ensure that your characters have some form of growth. The main point is that you need to get your ideas down on paper. At least, that’s what’s working for me thus far.
So relieved for the weekend! This month I took on a new writing activity, so it calls for managing my time more productively. I still can’t believe that I took on a third writing activity, yet I feel like I’m doing great with maintaining this journal for 2018, and my poetry blog. Having another writing project makes things interesting.
I kinda love the challenge. It certainly breaks things up from the usual prepping and planning for work, all day every day. I can prep and prepare for different characters for a change.
Halloween is over, yet it doesn’t mean that the ‘spooky’ theme needs to be put away. I’m one of those people who sticks to eccentric, dark things no matter the time of year. Some of the new books out there sounds amazing to explore really soon.
Right now I’m reading ‘After the Quake’ by Murakami (I don’t have the book in front of me, so I don’t want to get his name wrong). It’s a short story collection, and so far I read one of the pieces. Perhaps it’s due to the translation, but he has an interesting way of writing his characters. I can’t wait to read the rest of the collection.
Today is my cousin Phillip’s 30th birthday! It’s such a milestone year. Currently he’s living in Florida with his family. He has a very busy life, but he does what he can to make sure everyone is content. I’m hopeful that I can see him in August for the wedding.
Now that I began a new book, I’m searching online for a book community in the area. It’s surprising how there’s not that many groups here in Hunterdon County! I discovered one group that I may express interest in.
I began the story ‘After thr Quake’ by Haruki Murakami. It’s a short story compilation, the content centered on the Great Hanshin earthquake in the mid-90s. I’m only a few pages in for the first story.
Tonight is the night before Halloween. I need to watch ‘It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown’ before Halloween is over! ‘Life and Death of a Pumpkin’ on Youtube is also entertaining!
