June 16, 2018: Heading Home

Andy and I are on our way home. It was a wonderful few days in Wildwood and Cape May. Today was a day reliving memories of where Andy vacationed with his family growing up. We tried visiting a local friend Andy knew during his many trips, but she was in the middle of a family reunion. We will visit another time. Hopefully we can work something out with her in the future, so we will have another place to relax.

We had a great experience at the Windward Motel, and the owners are very laid back, always available to give a helping hand when needed. I’m already looking forward to our next visit, which i hope will be soon.

Andy and I made sure that we stopped at Mack’s Pizza for dinner, then we walked around the boardwalk for the last time. Since it’s Saturday, the area was packed with families and shoppers, but it didn’t bother me so much. It adds to the beauty of the shore town. After some picture-taking, we’re making the journey home.

I feel a pang of sadness upon leaving, but I’m looking forward to the next time I go with my fiance. Wildwood and Cape May is where we make precious memories each and every time. It’s truly our happy place.

June 15, 2018: Cold Springs and Beach Walks

Today Andy and I relaxed at both Cape May and Wildwood. In the afternoon, we had lunch near Cold Springs village. It’s a pretty town near Cape May, with small, summer homes and wild birds and goats throughout the neighborhood. After lunch we returned to Wildwood, where we re-visited Hooked on Books. This time I made sure to pick up a few more books to add to my collection. We then went to have dinner at a really good Italian restaurant, Little Italy. We also made time to walk along the beach and shoreline earlier this evening. Our trip to Wildwood and Cape May is nearly ending, so we wanted to capture as many heartfelt moments as possible.

June 14, 2018: Cape May

Today the weather was much warmer here in Wildwood. It was a beautiful, sunny day, so Andy and I went to the beach shortly after breakfast. I spent some time relaxing, surrounding myself with the sound of the ocean waves. I also spent some time walking along the shoreline with Andy. It was such a calming experience to wade near the ocean! We also took some pictures of the ocean up close.

In the afternoon we went over to Cape May. Since this was where we got engaged two years ago, it holds such meaning for us. We drove around the scenic neighborhoods, then we went to Sunset Beach. Many people flock to this location each and every day to have a perfect view of the sunset. Today it did not disappoint, as orange, yellow and purple hues painted the landscape. Cape May is a truly magical area, and we try to visit every year when we’re visiting South Jersey.

March 26, 2018: Wildwood and Cape May

Yesterday was such a fun day trip to Wildwood. It was supposed to take place on Saturday, but the birthday gathering for Andy’s niece took place on that day, so we saved it for Sunday. We spent the afternoon down in Wildwood and Cape May. The pizzeria that Andy loves to frequent (Macks) opened for the season this past weekend, so it’s like a tradition for him to go around then. Since we began our relationship, I began heading down to Wildwood with him around this time. I always enjoy my time with Andy whenever we go, and yesterday was another fun excursion.

After we had lunch at Macks, we walked around on the Wildwood boardwalk. It was so exciting to view the rides we would go on in a couple months’ time, and the shops that we will check out when they open. We took some pictures of the rides and the ocean, then we drove down to Cape May. Once we were there, we made a stop to Sunset Beach. This was the place where Andy proposed to me, so it will always hold a special place in our hearts. Sadly the time passed too quickly, and we needed to head back to Hunterdon County after a few hours. I was so happy that we got to spend time in South Jersey yesterday, and I can’t for us to visit again in the summer.
