Tonight is my first night away, on vacation. I’m down in Wildwood with Andy. It feels great to be away from central NJ for a few days, in one of my favorite places to visit. Tonight is a bit breezier than usual, but a perfect time for walking on the boardwalk. I look forward to us making many new memories together.
I had a very crazy afternoon at work, which Fridays always are. The children were extra loopy due to the rainy day, and my blood sugar kept going low, despite me having glucose tablets to bring it back. During my break I usually eat then write up the classroom highlights sheet to post at the front of my door, with pictures on display. It’s a lot to do in 60 minutes, but when I’m feeling normal I get it done. Yesterday however, the only energy I had was to eat, then write up the highlight sheet. I couldn’t get the photos done, so I emailed then to management to have them (hopefully) printed, so I can post them in the afternoon. Unfortunately it never got done, so I’ll need to post them on Monday morning. Rainy days and sugar lows at work make things very complicated.
During my break I spoke to Andy about my crazy morning, while writing my classroom highlight sheet. He’s a great listener during these times. When I was done, he shared good news with me: our outing we’ve been planning for June went through. It’s going to be exciting to spend a few days away from work. Hopefully my left wrist will feel much better by then also. I enjoy working with my group at work, but time for myself is surely needed.
Yesterday was such a fun day trip to Wildwood. It was supposed to take place on Saturday, but the birthday gathering for Andy’s niece took place on that day, so we saved it for Sunday. We spent the afternoon down in Wildwood and Cape May. The pizzeria that Andy loves to frequent (Macks) opened for the season this past weekend, so it’s like a tradition for him to go around then. Since we began our relationship, I began heading down to Wildwood with him around this time. I always enjoy my time with Andy whenever we go, and yesterday was another fun excursion.
After we had lunch at Macks, we walked around on the Wildwood boardwalk. It was so exciting to view the rides we would go on in a couple months’ time, and the shops that we will check out when they open. We took some pictures of the rides and the ocean, then we drove down to Cape May. Once we were there, we made a stop to Sunset Beach. This was the place where Andy proposed to me, so it will always hold a special place in our hearts. Sadly the time passed too quickly, and we needed to head back to Hunterdon County after a few hours. I was so happy that we got to spend time in South Jersey yesterday, and I can’t for us to visit again in the summer.
Yesterday turned out to be a wonderful outing in Milford, PA. Me and Andy went out for lunch at the Dimmick Inn. It was a warm and welcoming place, and … Continue reading February 19, 2018: Memories from Sunday
Bright and sunny, a lovely afternoon to venture into Milford, PA for an anniversary dinner. Only the snow patches on the hills and rocks along route 15 gives away the crazy snowfall that took place the night before. It began as Andy and I were coming home from mass. Even though we were driving below the speed limit, the snow slammed against the windshield. We were thankful that we arrived home safely.
We drove to Milford once before, a couple months ago. We went on a fun drive one weekend, and discovered a nice little town on the border of NJ and PA. We wanted to return soon, to see more of the neighborhood, and enjoy the lovely restaurant in the area.
Even if it does turn out that there’s little to see, it will be a nice weekend anniversary adventure.
Today my fiance Andy and I celebrate 5 years together. It’s wonderful that we’ve shared many memories. We’ve known each other for several years, but lost touch after we graduated from college years ago. Thankfully social media reconnected our paths a few years ago.
Andy and I got engaged over a year ago, and I’m looking forward to many more wonderful years and memories with him. He is someone that I would share everything with, and he encourages every dream I reach out to achieve.
February 14 is now a special day in my life, in different ways. It’s Andy’s sister’s birthday, as well as the ‘day of love’ for many couples. Since Andy and I officially began our relationship the following day a few years ago, we celebrate our moment later on. Since a birthday is also honored today, it makes planning our outing easier.
Today also marks Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent for Roman Catholics. I haven’t thought much about what to abstain from for a few weeks, but I’ll think of something. As daunting as it may feel to give up a favored thing for 40 days, it does pass quickly.
