October 14, 2018: Pumpkins and Walking Dead

Today I relaxed and worked on my classroom pumpkin. At work we were each given a pumpkin to decorate by the end of the week, so since I’m always busy doing a million things at work, I took care of it here at home. I chose a sinple outline: a cat gazing up at a full moon. I always love pumpkin carving. After the initial cut around the pumpkin’s center, it’s simple after that.

Andy and I also watched The Walking Dead. I love the story, but the comic is much more enjoyable than the show. So many characters have taken different routes on the television version, with some main people making their departures soon. I’m not sure what’s going to happen as the season progresses. It’s nice to see the interracial romances taking place on the show though.

April 12, 2018: Upcoming Weekend

I’m very much looking forward to the weekend, since this week has been hectic on many levels. The positive moment of the week was my orthopedist appointment yesterday, and the outcome.

On Saturday I’ll be seeing Front 242 and Covenant in Philadelphia with Andy. They are two industrial music groups who’ve been around for a long time. They are both great to see live, so it will be a fun event. Hopefully we’ll also see a couple good friends we know in the area.

Sunday will be the Walking Dead finale. Honestly I’m not too thrilled about how this season has played out. I’ve always been on the fence about the show (I enjoy the comic more), but I’m still gave the show the chance. However, a mid-season surprise has turned me off even further about the show. I’ll still watch the finale on Sunday, but I’m not greatly excited over it.

February 25, 2018: Curriculum and Action

It’s been a busy Sunday, as I was gathering materials for the new curriculum theme. The topic is all about animals, so I finished up lesson plans and did last minute additions. I also picked up tools for my Cozy Corner. Although I’m still waiting to add some books, I feel relieved that I nearly have the area in place.

Now it’s spending time watching Walking Dead & Elimination Chanber. Both shows are entertaining for different reasons: Walking Dead for its intense action, and WWE for its drama/action. Another late night, but it will be worth it.
